"Iran's Regime is not paying attention" : Shirin Ebadi

In an interview with Vida Samei of Radio France International (Persian language) the 2003 Nobel Peace Laureate, Shirin Ebadi said: “For many years the human rights defenders and children rights activists have been objecting to child executions but Iran’s regime is not paying any attention.”

“Due to the low age of penal responsibility in Iran, when girl at the age of 10 and a boy at the age of 15 commit a crime, they will be treated the same as an adult while it does not seem like those below the age of 18 have reached the mental maturity” she added.
